HarmonyOS 3.1 developer beta activity is in the air in China and the company is now working on the beta expansion among other devices including the Huawei Mate 50 series.
According to our information, Huawei is internally testing HarmonyOS 3.1 developer beta on Mate 50 series, the latest move from the tech maker is in the process of expansion. Therefore we could expect Huawei to drop this beta for more devices.
At Huawei Developer Conference 2022, Huawei announced HarmonyOS 3.1 and started rolling out its developer beta. As the name says, it’s dedicated to the developers.
Earlier this month, Huawei began testing HarmonyOS 3.1 developer beta on the Huawei P50 series in China. This allows app developers and public consumers to participate in the beta campaign and test the latest software capabilities. However, it’s still not a beta for public users.
This new HarmonyOS software focuses on animations as well as system optimizations. However, the animation part is what we’ve seen so far.
A small walkthrough of the HarmonyOS 3.1 developer beta reveals that there are major tweaks made in the animation of the notification panel, layout selection for widget groups, and other important switch cases. There are also minor changes that have been made to the features side. It’s also found that this new HarmonyOS version is a big bug fix for the past upgrades.

Looking into this, HarmonyOS 3.1 beta 1 version added ArkTS cross-device interface development capabilities and low code development based on the preview version.
The recent developer beta adds a new ability framework, which provides better-staged development models for various task handling. It also contributes to the operation and management capabilities of the apps.
The New ArkUI framework enhances the user interface component and enhances the layout capabilities as well as other UI elements. App package management adds an interface for querying properties related to applications and extension ability. It also summarizes the basic class library supports buffer binary reading and writing.
These are all HarmonyOS 3.1 developer advantages but a more graphical and user-oriented beta is yet to come.
